Blessings From New Orleans ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit blessingsfromneworleans.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have questions about this policy at any time, email us at Hello@blessingsfromneworleans.com.
1. Who We Are
Blessings From New Orleans is a gift basket business based in Louisiana. We design, assemble, and ship personalized gift baskets, and we operate this Site to showcase our products, accept orders, and stay in touch with customers.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically when you use the Site, and information from third parties (such as our payment processor).
Information You Provide
- Contact and inquiry forms. When you contact us through the Site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message.
- Newsletter sign-ups. When you subscribe to our emails, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name.
- Orders and purchases. When you place an order, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number, order details, and any gift message or personalization you supply. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor (see "Payment Information" below) and are not stored on our servers.
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your login credentials and any profile details you choose to add.
- Customer service communications. If you contact us by email, phone, or social media, we keep records of those communications.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Site, we (and our service providers) automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address, approximate location (city/region), and device identifiers
- Browser type, operating system, and language settings
- Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, and referring URL
- Date and time of access
- Cookie and similar tracking-technology data (see Section 5)
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from service providers who help us run the Site, such as our payment processor (which confirms successful transactions), our shipping partners, our email platform (which reports opens and clicks), and analytics or advertising platforms.
Payment Information
All payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor (for example, Stripe, Square, Shopify Payments, or PayPal). Your full credit or debit card number is submitted directly to the processor and is not stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits of the card, and the card brand for our records.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping, returns, and customer support
- Respond to your inquiries, requests, and messages
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, receipts)
- Send marketing emails about new products, promotions, and seasonal offerings — only if you have opted in
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, our products, and our services
- Personalize your experience and remember your preferences
- Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others
Legal bases (EU/UK visitors). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: performance of a contract (to process orders), your consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Site and prevent fraud), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers. With vendors who help us operate our business — website hosting, payment processing, order fulfillment, shipping carriers, email and SMS marketing platforms, analytics providers, and customer support tools. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services for us.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
- Legal compliance and safety. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, customers, or others.
- With your consent. Any other sharing will be done only with your permission.
"Sale" or "sharing" for advertising. Depending on the cookies and pixels active on the Site (for example, Meta/Facebook Pixel or Google Ads tags), certain disclosures of identifiers and browsing activity to advertising partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). See Section 8 for how to opt out.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze how the Site is used, and deliver relevant marketing. These typically fall into four categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function (shopping cart, checkout, login).
- Performance and analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site (for example, Google Analytics, Squarespace Analytics).
- Functional — remember your preferences and settings.
- Advertising and targeting — help us show relevant ads on other sites (for example, Meta Pixel, Google Ads).
You can control cookies through your browser settings (most browsers let you block or delete cookies). You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on, and you can manage advertising cookies through industry tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices tool. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but we will honor recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as needed to provide our services and for the purposes described in this policy — including to fulfill orders, comply with tax and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type:
- Order and transaction records: typically 7 years (for tax and accounting purposes)
- Customer service communications: typically 3 years
- Marketing email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we don't email you again
- Analytics data: typically up to 26 months in aggregated form
When we no longer need your information, we securely delete or anonymize it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information — including TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls, and reputable service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. To exercise any right described below, email Hello@blessingsfromneworleans.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before responding and reply within the time required by law.

We are the controller of your personal data. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (for example, to U.S.-based service providers), we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Other U.S. States
If you live in a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or others), you may have rights similar to those listed above for California. Contact us to exercise them.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email Hello@blessingsfromneworleans.com and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites, social media platforms, or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
11. International Visitors
We operate the Site from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (for example, a banner on the Site or an email to subscribers). Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
